First make sure Google voice typing is active on your device. (it is usually active at default, except maybe you must have turned it off by mistake) and also you must turn on data to use this service.

- Go to Settings -> Language & Input -> Google Voice Typing. Make sure the box is checked (marked)
- Now go to Messages -> New Message
- Tap on the message box to bring out the keypad
- Now tap the Google Voice Typing (microphone-like) icon at the bottom left of the keypad; just before the space bar.
- After tapping the Google Voice Typing icon, speak the message you want to write and your words will appear as text.
- To use punctuations, you just have to speak it. For example if you want to add a comma, just speak "comma" and it'll appear. You can do the same for all punctuation marks.
- After writing the text message with your voice, go through it to check for mistakes.
- Now to add recipient number, just tap on the box and speak out the name of the recipient and it'll appear. You can also choose to add the recipient number manually by tapping the contact icon.
